I’m struggling to keep up with my reviews while also working on all the other things related to publishing a book. So I am simplifying things for myself. Here are my rankings and short reviews. I am still catching up from the summer so in no way did I watch ALL these in one month.
Movies / TV Shows
Pompeii: Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston (3/5)
I have been fascinated with Pompeii for as long as I can remember so when I saw this, I had to watch it. It was cool to learn some more history about the area and view the disaster from a few distinct people. I will be featuring a volcano in one of my other books so I consider this good research.
9 to 5 (3/5)
With the sad death of Dolly Parton, I just had to watch this. It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but it was a lot of fun.
Junior Chefs - Season 1 (4/5)
I think I am a pretty good cook but I am nothing compared to these kids! I was humbled and became hungry within moments. These kids are amazing!
Up (4/5)
This is a classic that I have seen numerous times. It is just as good upon every re-watch. The beginning gets me everytime. It is amazing that such a short segment with hardly any talking can land such an emotional wallop.
Reacher - Season 4 (4/5)
I have enjoyed previous seasons so was looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint. This season was a wild ride and very different from the previous one. I wasn’t sure how they were going to wrap it all up but they managed to.
Suzume (4/5)
This was a run Japanese film that was picked by other members in my family for our family movie night. It was not what I was expecting but I still really enjoyed it.
Junior Chefs - Season 2 (4/5)
Once again this was a humbling experience…. these kids are beyond talented. I love watching kids on reality TV as they are generally having a ton of fun and all support each other.
Bridge to Terabithia (4/5)
This was a rewatch and I enjoyed it just as much upon this viewing. If you haven’t seen this one, I highly recommend that you do. It appears to be a simple kids film but it packs a punch…. I don’t want to spoil it but if you have seen it, you know what I am talking about.
Books
Mark of Athena - Rick Riordan (4/5)
This was another good entry in the series. I enjoyed it and am now very invested in the rest of the series.
